The textile and fashion industries are undergoing an unprecedented transformation. Focus on authenticity, uniqueness, and sustainable production generate a growing demand for Collaborations between fashion and craft.
The question is, what tools are available for initiating, managing and sustaining collaborations with artisans and craft communities? We have identified three main problems: 1) There are no unitary regulations and frameworks. 2) Craft knowledge is undervalued leading to increased inequalities across the supply chain. 3) There is untapped sustainability potential of handcrafted production. To target those problems, we at CIPRI Consulting take a unique holistic approach to sustainability by weaving culturally embedded practices into design, production and consumption patterns.
We advocate and promote the integration of craftsmanship in contemporary supply chains. And we design Benefit-Sharing Business models for artisans and T&F stakeholders.
What makes us unique? At CIPRI Consulting we take a craft centric approach to Sustainable Development. While existing sustainability consulting companies focus on People, Planet, Profit we also consider culture as the 4th dimension - which makes us unique in the market. Building upon the global network of the umbrella organization, our tools, and know-how are applicable on a global scale. We want to be the McKinsey of the craft space with integrated services and a network of global affiliates. Outside of Europe we have already secured partnerships in India and Laos.
